Autumn Term – NICER Curriculum Work
We are starting our term with a whole school Big Adventure which will run across three days! Children will be learning about different cultures and staff will be dressing up to run with the theme. Our challenge pack will run for the whole of the autumn term and our outcome will be to hold a festival to share our big multicultural adventure.
This term each class will be researching different countries. Year two will be focussing on Japan. Children will be looking at maps and locating where Japan is. They will also explore their local area and compare similarities and differences between these two areas. In computing children will be researching Japanese culture, traditions and festivals that are celebrated.
P.E & Forest School
This term, in P.E we will be doing gymnastics. Please ensure your child has a NAMED P.E kit in school throughout the week.
If your child wears jewellery, please make sure they are not wearing it on Fridays. If you wish for your child to cover their earrings you must provide them with a plaster.
Also this term every Monday we will have a forest school session. Please bring your child with spare warm clothes and wellington boots.
Homework is linked to our NICER Challenge, children can choose which plate they would like to complete, home work information has been sent home but can also be found on the website here.
Every week your child will receive a set of spellings. They will be given out on Mondays please practise these with them as they will have a spelling test in school the following Monday.
Please read with your child, every day for at least 5 minutes.
Please ensure your child brings their reading book and diary into school everyday!
